The Body Is the Ship – Navigating Circuit 1 in the Collapse Era
Chaos Compass Transmission #1: No Panic on the Titanic! A Chaos-Pirate Mantra for Reclaiming Sovereignty in Your Flesh
Ahoy New Travelers — Welcome to the Evolving Chaos Compass Game World
If this is your first dive, a hearty welcome to the transmissions from the edges of consensus-reality.
You are about to enter a rabbit-hole, but worry not, this will not just be dry theory. What I am sharing in this publication is a navigational system to reclaim inner sovereignty in a world of increasing entropy.
We have 8 territories to explore. Each of them represents a circuit of the nervous system and a domain of our minds. On the side of Order we have the basic survival programming and on the side of Disorder the realms of expanded perception. The model that serves as basis for the maps was given to us by the fringe sages Timothy Leary, Robert Anton Wilson and Antero Alli.
It describes a theory for neuro-development and the use of substances and psycho-spiritual technology to re-wire our brains.
But we’re not just talking theory here.
I’ve painted actual maps to illustrate the elusive topography of the inner realms. These maps are more than metaphors—they are spells, mirrors, and training grounds for intelligence increase and magical aptitude.
This post begins our descent into Circuit 1: Bio-Unit Maintenance—the foundation of it all. But before we embark, you might want to catch up on the mythos and psychonautic terrain we've already charted:

The Hidden Treasures Podcast goes live each Monday at 19:30 CEST right here on Substack. I usually post each episode with an update from my world the following week.
Each post in this series will explore one Circuit—inviting you into quests, rituals, and a deep self-assessment. This journey unfolds until the Summer Solstice, and after that? The Game World expands.
So tune in.
Turn on.

Find the Others.
1. Setting Sail: What Is Circuit 1?
This is the foundation. The hull of your ship. Your meat-suit, vessel, organism, and first interface with Reality. If you can't hold the line here, everything else capsizes.
Circuit one represents your basic bio-survival instincts. The evolutionary and developmental oldest part of your nervous system. Often referenced as the reptilian brain.
The Amygdala.
That part of your brain that sounds the big alarm bells anytime it senses danger. Real or imagined danger.
And boy… with all that doom and gloom narratives going around and all the Fnords in the news… well… your system probably feels under siege most of the time.
This system responds with Fight, Flight, or Freeze when we don’t feel safe or our basic needs for food, shelter, and rest cannot be met consistently.
What this means for your system: tension in your body, anxiety, existential dread, numbness, or an irrational urge to punch someone. And: bad coping strategies like addiction to nicotine, opioids, and the eternal doom-scroll for soothing.
If the alarms are on all the time, we lose access to the more juicy features of our nervous system. When the system stays in the overdrive for too long, it shuts down and you land in the Cape of Frozen Bodies. Numb, plagued by inertia, and unable to take aligned action.
To navigate the Storms coming our way, it is imperative to reclaim this part of our nervous system so we can remain grounded, safe, ungovernable, strategic, and capable of building networks of resilience.
If you let yourself get hijacked by the Fnords in the News, you will get sucked into a GameWorld where you react like a pawn to the chess moves of technocratic feudal overlords.
So take a close look at the map.
Where are you right now?
Your first Quest is to chart a path to Safety Bay—and anchor there.
2. Safety Is Not a Setting – It’s a Practice
In a collapsing world, safety isn’t a condition—it’s a capacity and an inside job. And in a world where reality is being re-skinned by algorithms, it's the the basic anchor for sovereignty we have.
The vast majority of us started this Game with an un-safe imprint in C1, just by the traumatic act of hospital birth and being separated from our mothers too soon.
Some are lucky to have had a mother that tended to them with attunement and nurturing care, most of us probably had mums that needed to go back into hustling for survival before our nervous system could develop enough safety within.
Without a Safety-Imprint-Setting it becomes hard to trust: our bodies, others, and life itself. Existence in a body becomes a life long quest through the Survival Parcour with regular visits to the Desert of Existential Anxiety.
A Big Chunk of us lands in the Swamplands of Addiction some meet their ending in Overdose Base. The Opiod Epidemic - It’s Systemic.
We learned early: survival must be earned. Not by trust. But by transaction.
But there is a way out.
We can practice cultivating Safety within through somatic awareness and nervous system regulating techniques.
And the most fabulous tool we have is our Breath!
Do this now.
Stop reading.
Take five deep breaths.
Inhale, deep—from hips to lungs.
Hold.
Exhale slowly, with a sigh.
Notice what changes.
You just anchored your nervous system.
Later on, we’ll explore the full tech hidden in the Cape of Breathwork, the Highlands of Grounding, and the Meadows of Co-Regulation.
But for now try this:
The next time you give someone a hug, stay in the embrace for at least 23 seconds. Breathe together. Notice what happens in your body.
It’s a spell. And it works.
3. The Bio-Survival Trap – How the Machine Hijacks the Body
What if your survival’s already outsourced?
What if your food, rent, rest—even your time—belong to the Machine?
Let’s get down to the the core.
In this fucked up extractive system of late stage capitalism turning into technocratic feudalism, our sense for safety highly depends on our capacity to attain the survival tickets handed out to worship the egregor of money.
We have this weird setting called ‘Cost of Living’ that has most of us hustling day in day out to meet our basic needs for food, shelter and safety.
Your body’s survival has already been outsourced.
We western civilization folks have outsourced our sense of Safety to a complex machine of state institutions and a conglomerate of big corporations that provide us with housing and food in exchange for our hard earned bio-survival tickets.
You rent safety from the Machine:
You want rest? You need money.
You want food? Swipe your card.
You want healthcare? Comply.
You want time? Obey the algorithm.
Your body’s survival has already been outsourced.
We work in corps owned by billionaires, so we can pay our billionaires for the amenities to survive inside systems built by other billionaires—and for entertainment we get to watch games of millionaires owned by other billionaires, kicking a ball around a grass field.
Can’t earn enough survival tickets by selling your time and body?
Welfare might toss you just enough of them tickets—if you trade autonomy for bureaucracy bondage chains and surveillance enhanced compliance rituals that keep you hooked into the system.
This is late-stage capitalism's genius.
It doesn’t need to hurt you.
It just needs to keep you dependent.
With just enough comfort so you won’t rebel.
Here’s the thing: You are a body.
You have a body.
You live through a body.
And the Machine knows this—your bio-survival is the leverage point.
You are kept alive just enough to keep consuming. To keep scrolling. To keep participating in an increasingly deranged simulation that trades your vitality for dopamine and your labor for someone else’s yacht.
Our bio-survival circuitry—originally designed to sniff out tigers or find a warm cave—now gets hijacked by apps, productivity cults, and artificial scarcity systems.
And the next wave is already forming:
AI governance and Terms-of-Service technocracy managed by corporations.
You can either comply—or be cast out.
No survival tickets for you!
Bodies re-framed as Service Units: disposable, replaceable, programmable.
Or worse. Rounded up into gulags, if they are too brown.
The situation feels dire.
Threat! Can you hear the alarm bells in your body?
Rebellion won’t begin with a protest.
It begins with unhooking your bio-survival from the machine.
We need to quest for a decentralized, embodied sovereignty.
We must reclaim our bodies.
Find nourishment outside the extractive economy.
Reclaim rest from the jaws of hustle culture.
Anchor pleasure without permission.
Breathe beyond the walls of com-modified wellness.
This is a fight for embodied sovereignty.
4. The Quest for Sovereign Vitality
You can’t LARP as a warrior monk if you’re running on panic. You need self-reliance, somatic literacy, and a Crew that can hold the line with you.
The storm coming our way will not only bring war for territories. Climate change will also increase fighting for food and water supplies.
This presents enough threats to our bio-survival as is. On top of that the corporations controlling the supply chains, get to push our panic buttons.
As long as you run on panic mode, you cannot plot any actionable resistance.
It is also a war on your embodiment. We already spend so much time hooked to our screens, dissociated from our bodies, captivated by the algorithms. This will only get worse as the technological revolution of brain-machine interface moves forward.
So what can we do to fight for sovereign vitality?
We train.
We become Warrior Monks of the Nervous System.
We don’t run away from collapse—we build the body that can move through it. We don’t pray for utopia—we prepare for entropy.
This is the part where I tell you to eat your vegetables, lift heavy things, drink clean water, and get 8 hours of sleep.
But you already know that.
This is a deeper invitation to become as present with our bodies as we can.
And I am preaching to myself here.
The last years I have neglected my body while building up other circuits and now I am getting the invoice in middle age, billed in excess weight, back- and knee pain.
So this is the focus of my current questing:
Unhook my dopamine system from the scroll machines.
Bulk on muscle as long as we still have access to mail order protein to build up strength and increase mobility.
Train like a warrior to increase trust in my body.
Invoke the Archetype of the Warrior to aid with persistence, perseverance, and discipline to reclaim my body and vitality.
Explore the Valley of Self-Reliance. Learn survival skills in the wild.
Organize food supplies with neighbors and local farmers.
Learn about permaculture and growing my own food.
Learn about foraging. Experiment with enduring hunger.
Unhook as much as I can from the corporate food-supply chain. Start by exploring a diet that relies mostly on unprocessed food. Reclaim the art of cooking.
Find those friends I can have regular cuddle puddles with! Breathe together. Cook together. Laugh together.
This is not just about becoming “fit.”
It’s about becoming sovereign my your own skin.
A Warrior Monk isn’t a bodybuilder. They are someone who can hold their ground when the world shakes. Someone who can tend the temple and defend it. This is the inner dojo. The field of red magick. The shrine of my will.
5. Mapping Your Territory – The C1 Self-Assessment
The map won't save you. But it will show you where you stand. And that changes everything.
Now comes the mirror.
This isn’t about judging yourself. This is about locating yourself on the Map.
I’ve created a Self-Assessment tool to help you identify your Circuit 1 status. It includes reflective prompts, a scored Likert diagnosis, and a final slider for embodiment confidence.
Circuit 1: Bio-Unit Maintenance – Warrior Monk Track
Part I: Open Reflection Prompts
(Non-scored, self-reflective)
What is your relationship to your physical body—ally, enemy, prison, vehicle, temple?
When do you feel most grounded, safe, and present in your body?
What practices ensure your baseline of survival and vitality stays strong (e.g., food, sleep, movement, income, protection)?
Have you ever experienced a disconnection or betrayal by your body? How did you respond, and what has the healing looked like?
How prepared are you to protect yourself or others in a physical threat scenario (from de-escalation to combat)?
Part II: Likert Self-Diagnosis (1–5)
I feel physically safe and secure in my current living environment.
I am attuned to my body’s needs and can usually respond with care.
I meet my body's core needs consistently — with food, sleep, hydration, and breath.I can calm my nervous system through movement, breath, or co-regulation.
I possess basic survival competencies (e.g. shelter-building, orientation, foraging).
I trust my body’s ability to handle pain, fatigue, or discomfort.
I feel capable of securing income or resources to meet my physical needs.
I am resilient under stress and know how to return to a calm state.
I do not dissociate from my body when overwhelmed or under pressure.
I maintain strength and mobility through regular physical practice or embodied training.
I have trained or practiced martial arts skills that would help me defuse danger or defend myself if needed.
→ Total: Max 50 points
Part III: Final Slider
How confident are you in your body’s ability to survive, adapt, and protect you in this world?
(1 = Weak & vulnerable • 5 = Trained, adaptive, and sovereign)
→ Adds 5 points → Total Max = 55
Tier Interpretation
Score 1-5 : Dormant Circuit - Disembodied or in chronic fear; bio-survival un-anchored
Score 6–17: Malfunctioning -Unstable nervous system, reactive or shut down survival responses
Score 18–23: Awakening - Beginning somatic literacy; starting to reclaim safety
Score 24–42: Active - Reliable survival instincts, emerging bodily trust
Score 43–55: Warrior Monk - Embodied, alert, trained; grounded without fear or fantasy
Take the quiz. Drop your score in the comments, the Subs-Chat, or DM me.
If you’d like, I’ll help you map your Chaos Star and calibrate your compass as we travel the 8 territories together.
And remember—where you are is not where you stay.
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about expanding our capacity and becoming CATS with: Capacity to hold the Fire, Audacity to take aligned action, Toughness to withstand and resist, and Safety in our bodies to trust.
As a gift for riding this far on the Chaos Compass, here’s a simple but potent ritual to anchor safety in your body.
You don’t need candles or crystals. Just a few minutes. Your breath. Your awareness. Your body.
You can do this anytime, anywhere.
It’s yours now.
A compass you carry in your chest.
A small spell to whisper when the world gets loud.
Stay sovereign. Stay grounded.
See you next in Circuit 2: Emotional Sovereignty.
Yours in Chaos,
Captain Mavis
